Chase launches into airport lounges.

The banking company plans to open lounges at five domestic airports and one international site from the end of this year. Chase Sapphire Reserve and Priority Pass cardholders will enjoy free access. Admission for other Chase cardholders — or even those without a Chase card — has not been determined.

The lounges will be located at:

  • Boston Terminal B to C Connector
  • Hong Kong Terminal 1
  • Gates of Las Vegas Terminal 1C
  • New York-LaGuardia Terminal B
  • Phoenix Terminal 4 South
  • San Diego West Terminal 2

The concept was launched last summer with the announcement of the first four locations. Phoenix and Las Vegas are new to the list.

“Travel has always been important to our customers who yearn for compelling and elevated experiences,” said Marianne Lake, co-CEO of Chase, in A declaration. “We are investing to meet our customers where they want to be, as more of them have the confidence to travel again.”

The company promises a new take on the idea of airport lounges.

“We always seek to deliver elevated experiences throughout the journey, and our Sapphire Reserve Card members have told us that lounge access is essential,” said Catherine Hogan, president of Chase Branded Cards, in a separate version. “We are thrilled to bring the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club to life at airports in cities across the United States and beyond.”

Details on opening dates and what the shows will actually include have not been announced.

Lounge sizes will range from 3,500 square feet in Phoenix and 4,500 square feet in Las Vegas to 11,000 square feet in San Diego and 12,000 square feet in Boston.

The dimensions of the Hong Kong and New York salons are unknown.

Chase will join American Express and Capital One in the airport lounge arena. These are in addition to a number of airlines operating their own lounges for customers arriving early or laying over for their flights.

American Express operates 23 Centurion Lounges across the country and the world, including facilities in Phoenix and Las Vegas where Chase has projects.

Capital One opened its doors his first living room recently in Dallas. He also has plans for shows in Denver and Washington-Dulles.
